BBQ HIGH
A six-part docuseries following Texas teenagers
participating in a high-stakes barbecue competition
for state championship honors is the subject of
" BBQ High " which aired on Magnolia Network beginning in August. More than
130 Texas high school teams competed in High School BBQ Inc.'s regional
competitions leading up to the State Championship and a shot at scholarships
toward culinary school from Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts.
Escoffier has been a sponsor since its inception.
Texas HS BBQ Inc.'s competitions require student-led teams to prepare
dishes in brisket, ribs, chicken, beans and dessert. In addition to the
competitions, " BBQ High " follows students' journeys and captures some of the
pivotal life decisions they face during their senior year.
" BBQ Inc. offers a different kind of extracurricular option for high school
students interested in barbecue education and team competitions focused
on problem-solving, the science behind cooking and smoking meats, time
management and leadership skills, " said board member Marcus McMellon,
president of Escoffier's Austin, Texas, campus. " We've seen these kids take
the competition to the next level from pre-dawn practices and creative recipe
development to welding their smokers and managing wood-burning pits. The
events continue to grow in popularity to the level of 'Friday Night Lights' for
barbecue competitions. "
Impossible foodservice
Impossible Foods opened its first
plant-based foodservice concept inside
XMarket Food Hallin Chicago. Impossible
Quality Meats, the company's first inperson
location, is designed around the
company's portfolio of plant-based meat
facsimiles. Offerings include Impossible
Chicken Nuggets with Fries, Impossible
Asian Style Meatballs and the Impossible
Chicago Style Hot Dog, among other
items. Consumers will be able to purchase
popular Impossible retail products
including Impossible Beef, Impossible Hot
Dogs and Impossible Chicken Nuggets.

collaborated on three limitededition
offerings across grocery
retailers and KFC restaurants
nationwide.
KD KFC Original Recipe Flavour
Mac 'n Cheese is available in
grocery stores, while the KD Mac
& Cheese Chicken Sandwich and
the KD Mac & Cheese Snacker
Wrap are available in all KFC
Canada restaurants.
