Bologna jingle is B-A-C-K
Oscar Mayer's " The Bologna Song " is back after a 50-year hiatus. The brand is
reintroducing the commercial that first aired in 1974 and taught consumers how
to spell B-O-L-O-G-N-A complete with the same '70s era camera quality.
Through Dec. 15, Oscar Mayer invited fans to submit an audio recording
correctly singing " The Bologna Song " lyrics to receive an Instacart credit to
use on Oscar Mayer Bologna and any other groceries, while supplies lasted.
Additionally, individuals who spotted the 27-foot Wienermobile through Dec. 15
could sing " The Bologna Song " lyrics to the vehicle's Hotdoggers and, if correct,
receive free Oscar Mayer Bologna.
" Fifty years ago, we introduced the world to 'The Bologna Song,' as a way
to spotlight our delicious deli meats and cement the brand's legacy and mantra
of uniting millions around a love of meat, " said Shelby Max, brand manager
for Oscar Mayer. " We knew this anniversary was a moment that needed to be
celebrated in a big way, both for those who remember and those that are new.
By re-airing the original ad and becoming the first brand to accept singing as a
form of payment, we want to remind fans everywhere that bologna has a first
name - it's O-S-C-A-R. "
Swingin' for the (bbq) Pit
Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Chillicothe, Ohio, combined fairways and foodservice
with the launch of a state-of-the-art golf simulator. For $40 per hour, guests can
use their own clubs and balls to play on world-class courses simulated with
cutting-edge Full Swing technology, according to Dickey's Barbecue.

Michael McDermott, son of
CHI-CHI'S co-founder Marno
McDermott, is set to revive the
CHI-CHI'S Mexican restaurant
chain in 2025 thanks to a new
agreement with Hormel Foods,
owner of CHI-CHI'S trademarks.
The deal grants Michael McDermott
use of the CHI-CHI'S name on
physical restaurant locations.

of growing up in the CHI-CHI'S
restaurants that my father built
throughout their time, instilling in
me the passion and determination
to pursue my own career in the
restaurant industry, " said Michael
McDermott, founder of CHI-CHI'S
Restaurants LLC, the new company
formed to revive CHI-CHI'S

Marno McDermott and former
Green Bay Packers player Max
McGee, founded the chain in 1975.
The brand grew to 200 locations in
the United States until a series of
ownership changes eventually led to
the chain's closure in 2004.
