Chef's SLIDER kiss
Family owned and operated White Castle has
announced Sonoma, Calif.-based Chef Yoshiharu
Sogi as the winner of its " 2023 Slider Showdown "
recipe contest. Yoshiharu called his tantalizing dish
French Sliders Brunch, which is a White Castle
signature slider with strawberries, crispy bacon
and yogurt cream cheese. He turned the bun into
a cinnamon-infused French toast waffle, transforming the humble Slider into a
gastronomic delight.
" The basic structure of White Castle Sliders is simple, so there is a lot of
room to add your own creations, " Yoshiharu said. " Slider buns have great flavor
and texture. They are soft and light with a buttery note, which is delicious. The
grilled onions on the meat also make a great accent. "
As the winner, Yoshiharu will receive free White Castle Sliders for a year,
White Castle swag and a trip to Columbus, Ohio, to visit White Castle's home
office and test kitchen.

'Bloody' good cheer
Hormel Pepperoni released a limited-edition cocktail kit that was sure to
keep spirits burning and bright during the holidays. The Ultimate Pepperoni
Bloody Mary Cocktail Kit included Hormel Pepperoni Stix and Hormel Chorizo,
pepperoni-flavored Bloody Mary mix, pickle pepper-flavored vodka, habanero
and garlic hot sauce, and pepperoni and dill pickle rim seasonings.

US Department of Agriculture data
shows that Americans consume less
than a pound of duck per person
per year. Maple Leaf Farms, one
of the largest producers of duck
products in North America, created
a cookbook to get duck flying into
more US kitchens.
Cooking Duck with Liv will
be available for purchase at the
company's store and on its online
store. To commemorate its launch,
Maple Leaf Farms gave away 50
copies of the cookbook on its social
media channels leading up to the
holidays. The full-color cookbook
includes 25 different duck recipes
accompanied by professional
photographs of each dish and
step-by-step instructions on how to
cook duck breast, whole duck and
duck legs.
