complex manager for the West
Columbia, SC, plant would retire from
his position. Mabe worked for House of
Raeford since 1998 when the company
purchased Columbia Farms Inc.
USMEF
The Denver-based US Meat Export
Federation selected new officers
during its Annual Strategic Planning
Conference. Randy Spronk was
named USMEF chair; Steve Hanson,
chair-elect; Jay Theiler, vice chair;
and David Bruntz, secretary-treasurer.
Subway
Subway, Shelton, Conn., named Jeff
Shepherd chief financial officer of the
company. In his new role, Shepherd
will oversee Subway's global finance
organization as well as manage and
optimize the brand's global financial
performance and information security.
Kraft Heinz
Chicago-based Kraft Heinz Co.
updated its executive leadership team
in the fiscal year 2024. Appointments
include Carlos Abrams-Rivera as
chief executive officer; Pedro Navio
as executive vice president of Kraft
Heinz and president, North America;
Willem Brandt as president, Europe
and Pacific developed markets; Bruno
Keller as president, West and East
emerging markets; Cory Onell as chief
omnichannel sales and Asia emerging
markets officer; and Diana Frost as
chief growth officer.
Verde Farms
Verde Farms, Woburn, Mass.,
announced the appointment of Andy
Schutt as the new vice president of
finance. In his new for Verde role,
Schutt will be responsible for leading
the finance department, including all
reporting, banking, relationships and
FP&A activities.
Deli Star
Deli Star Corp., St. Louis, Mo.,
announced that Aziz Taour will be its
new president. Taour will lead the meat
processor alongside Justin Siegel, the
company's chief executive officer.
Carnivore Meat
Carnivore Meat Co., Green Bay,
Wis., announced that Brian Rich has
joined the company as sales manager
for its Private Brands division. In his
new role, he will support Carnivore by
expanding its private label portfolio
and developing relationships with key
clients and retailers.
General Mills
Minneapolis-based General Mills Inc.
made several changes to its senior
leadership team, effective Jan. 1,
2024. Dana McNabb was promoted
to president of North America Retail;
Jonathon J. Nudi to president of Pet
and International; Ricardo Fernandez
to president of International; Bethany
Quam to president of US Morning

Foods; and Sean Walker, currently
president of International, will retire
on Feb. 28, 2024. Kofi Bruce, chief
financial officer, will oversee the
company's strategy and growth efforts
on an interim basis while a search is
conducted for a new chief strategy and
growth officer.
Baldor
Baldor Specialty Foods, Bronx,
NY, announced several new hires,
including Seth Gottlieb as senior vice
president of logistics, Andrew Howell
as senior vice president of operations
and Avisheh Avini as general counsel.
Additionally, Baldor realigned its
manufacturing entities, including the
Fresh Cuts division and Pierless Fish
business, under chief operating officer
Gene Mayer.
Pacproinc
Pacproinc LLC, Souderton, Pa.,
welcomed Scott Hill to the team as
regional sales manager for the Western
District. In addition, Madison Todd
was named marketing coordinator for
the company.
Middleby
Middleby Food Processing, Elgin, Ill.,
named Valerio Draghi the company's
global product expert for dry-cured
meat processing plants. He will
provide production support to drycured
meat processing facilities and
assess opportunities for automation,
implementing solutions from the
Middleby portfolio of brands.
