Nathan's
Famous
Taking part in the Oklahoma Pork
Council's (OPC) annual Give-A-Ham
challenge, Seaboard Foods donated
approximately 17,500 servings of Prairie
Fresh pork to northeast Oklahoma
charities, including Iron Gate, John 3:16
and Sand Springs Home.
" Generosity nourishes the spirit:
Seaboard Foods and the Oklahoma Pork
Council's donation of pork to the grocery
pantry not only feeds bodies but also fuels
hope, " said Carrie Henderson, executive
director of Iron Gate. " We have seen a 43%
increase in the need for groceries over last
year. We are grateful to be the recipient
of this gift of 1,800 lbs of Prairie Fresh
pork spreading nourishment and warmth
to our guests - not only has it made this
year brighter but serves as a reminder that
neighbors care about each other. "
All 11 Oklahoma Pork Board of
Directors will donate hams or other pork
products to their local communities and
they will keep the generosity going by
asking their friends and colleagues to
accept the charity challenge and give to
the cause.
Oklahoma Pork Board Past President
Angie Johnson challenged Roy Cansler,
Seaboard Foods team member and OPC
board member, to participate in the 2023
Give-A-Ham campaign.
With Seaboard's 4,300-lb donation to
the campaign, the company ended the year
with more than 28,000 lbs of donated pork,
equal to more than 112,000 servings to
Oklahoma communities.
As part of the celebration, Seaboard
held a block party with OPC in Hennessey,
Okla., and made donated to the Hennessey
Good Samaritan Ministries food pantry.
Following a devastating
tornado Dec. 9, 2023,
in Clarksville, Tenn., a
Nathan's Famous Food
Truck traveled to the
Tennessee community to
deliver warm meals.
According to the
Smithfield Foods
Smithfield Foods' subsidiary, Eckrich, the
Official Smoked Sausage and Deli Meat
Sponsor of the College Football Playoff,
held its $1 Million Challenge for Teachers
in January.
In partnership with Extra Yard for
Teachers and the brand's valued retailers,
Eckrich's $1 Million Challenge for Teachers
invites nominated teachers onto the field at
one of the season's biggest matchups. The
randomly chosen teachers get a chance to
win up to $1 million in grants to fund local
schools by throwing a football.
At NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas,
Eckrich welcomed ESPN sports journalist
Marty Smith and Heisman Trophy
winner Andre Ware onto the field to
participate in the challenge. During the
national championship game between the
Washington Huskies and the Michigan
Wolverines, both men were tasked with

Service, the tornado
touched down near
Clarksville, resulting
in 62 injuries and four
fatalities, as well as
many damaged homes.

Bruner, who operated
the Nathan's Famous
Food Truck, partnered
with J&M Hospitality
and World Central
Kitchen to serve the
Clarksville community.
World Central Kitchen is
a nonprofit organization
that provides fresh meals
at the frontlines of a
crisis worldwide.
The Bruners,
making a 10-yard throw through a 20-inch
target. While neither contestant hit the
target, Eckrich donated $250,000 for the
CFP Foundation's Extra Yard for Teachers
initiative in recognition of the profession.
" We're thrilled to be joined by our
partners, Eckrich, as well as Marty and
Andre, to celebrate year six of the
Eckrich $1 Million Challenge for Teachers, "
said Britton Banowsky, executive director
of the CFP Foundation. " Through this
program, we've been able to pay tribute to
the educators who go above and beyond
to further engage, mentor and educate,
ensuring their students' success. "
Eckrich also honored the winner of
the Eckrich Teacher of the Year, fifth-grade
reading teacher Brooke Gordon, with a
CFP National Championship weekend
experience, including a $5,000 check to
fund classroom projects.

All Beef Hot Dogs,
Nathan's Crinkle Cut
Fries, Nathan's Chicken
Sandwiches and Nathan's
Famous Hamburgers.
The truck was open
10 - 12 hours each day
and served 600 meals per
day. To assist with the
effort, Nathan's Famous
Corp. donated cases of
hot dogs and buns.
Last year, the Bruners
and their staff served
3,200 meals in 40 days
to those impacted by a
devastating tornado in
Dawson Springs, Ky.
