Hormel Foods, the makers of Hormel Black Label Bacon, gave some diehard
college basketball fans the chance to taste a first-of-its-kind bacon smoked with
the actual northern cherry maple wood that is used to make the final floors of
the 2023 college basketball tournament.
Hardcourt Smoked Hormel Black Label Bacon was smoked low and slow
over northern maple wood chips, which Connor Sports trimmed from the ends
of the actual wood used to make this year's courts. Fans had March 13 through
March 20 to register for a chance to win one of 68 commemorative packages of
Hardcourt Smoked Hormel Black Label Bacon.
" For the first time, college hoops
superfans won't just live and breathe
the game this March, but they'll have
a chance to eat it, too, " said Nick
Schweitzer, senior brand manager
for Hormel Black Label Bacon.

Crave on wheels
Crave Hot Dogs & BBQ could be rolling into a
town near you. The fast-casual brand is taking
to the streets to expand the concept across
the United States.
The chain is expanding its fleet of
mobile units, which can produce the brand's
specialty hot dogs, barbecue pulled pork,
ribs, chicken, and brisket sandwiches and
tacos, sides and desserts on the go. And,
to wash it all down - the food, not the food
truck - a self-pour beer wall can support local
and domestic craft beers on tap.

Dog Haus, as part of the brand's
new Absolute Würst Sausage Series,
continued its streak of specialty
sausages in March with an innovative
Corned Beef and Cabbage Sausage.

Gertler's Corned Beef and Cabbage
Sausage is made with an all-beef
hormone- and antibiotic-free sausage
blended with cabbage, garlic and
corned beef spices in a sheep casing.
The sausage is served on Dog Haus'
signature grilled King's Hawaiian
rolls, allowing diners to celebrate St.
Patrick's Day throughout March.
" The greatest thing about the
Absolute Würst Sausage Series is that
the possibilities are endless, " Gertler
said. " This month's sausage is a twist
on an iconic meal and our way to get
in the St. Patrick's Day spirit. Our goal
with this series is to make people
