Heat and Control
Hayward, Calif.-based Heat and Control kicked off
its yearlong 70th anniversary celebration on June 27.
Founded in 1950, Heat and Control started in industrial
process heating applications, such as heat treatment
furnaces and combustion systems. The father-son duo
of Andy and Tony Caridis have worked side by side for
decades producing modern equipment solutions for the
food, pharmaceutical and other processing industries.
The company employs 1,600 people worldwide out of 11
manufacturing facilities, 12 test centers and more than
30 offices around the globe.

McDonald's Canada
Jacques Mignault was promoted to
president and chief executive officer of
Toronto-based McDonald's Canada.

Jeremy Xu has been named senior
vice president and chief innovation
officer for Westchester, Ill.-based
Ingredion Inc., effective Oct. 1.

and chief human resources officer.

named Jeff L. Power as president and
chief operating officer of the company.

Melanie Steinbach has been
promoted to senior vice president and
chief people officer, McDonald's USA.
Shammara Howell will take over
Steinbach's role as vice president and

the recipients of $10,000 scholarships
to be used toward the completion
of meat science-related academic
degrees. The scholarship winners
include: Jessica Brown, University
of Florida; Brianna Britton, Purdue
University; Luke Fuerniss, Texas Tech
University; Hannah Williams, Kansas
State University; Connor McKinzie,

Deli Star Corp., Fayetteville, Ill., hired
David Gerfen as the company's vice
president of its King's Foods division.

Mike Elphick

Joe Grieshaber, senior vice president
and chief merchant at The Kroger Co.,
Cincinnati, will retire in August and
be succeeded by Stuart W. Aitken,
current senior vice president of
alternative business and chief executive
officer of 84.51˚, Kroger's data analytics
subsidiary. Yael Cosset, senior vice
president and chief information officer,
will succeed Aitken.
