that D OU G S H E PA R D has
joined the company as chief
financial officer. Shepard brings a
wealth of leadership experience
from various companies and has
been instrumental in developing
financial strategies to support
a company's growth. As CFO,
Shepard will be responsible for
both the accounting and financial
arms of FSNS.

Tuscaloosa, Alabama-based PEC O F OODS announced
the promotion of its operations and manufacturing veteran,
J OR DAN TOWNS END to plant manager for the company's
new location in West Point, Mississippi. In addition, the
company announces TONY PIER C E as corporate portioning
manager. He most recently served as the plant manager for
the company's Canton, Mississippi, facilities. Taking over at
the Canton plant will be S H ANNON H ENDRY .
J OR DAN MILLIR EN joins St. Joseph, Missouri-based
B IOZYME as an area sales manager for Iowa and Southern
Minnesota. LOR I LAWR ENC E joins as an area sales manager
for Eastern Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
K R IS TIN WER NER , a student at Hennepin Technical
College in Minneapolis, has been named recipient of the
2018 Richard C. Ryan Packaging Education Scholarship,
funded by DOR NER . This $2,000 scholarship is awarded to
a student enrolled in a two- or four-year program at any of
PMMI's partner schools.
Hercules, California-based B IO-R AD LAB OR ATOR IES
INC . announced that it has signed a co-marketing
agreement with Billerica, Massachusetts-based B R UK ER
to bring foodborne pathogen detection and confirmation
workflow solutions to the food safety industry. Bio-Rad and
Bruker each develop, manufacture and sell products and
analytical instruments used in food microbiology laboratories.
The AMER IC AN MEAT S C IENC E AS S OC IATION
(AMSA) presented DR . POULS ON J OS EPH with one of
its Distinguished Achievement Awards at the AMSA 71st
Reciprocal Meat Conference (RMC) in June. Joseph began
his professional career as lead scientist at K ALS EC and is
currently the principal scientist and leader of the company's
Center of Excellence in Meat and Poultry.

He succeeds NIGEL TR AV IS , who will transition to an
executive chairman role. Hoffmann will remain president of

The Product Inspection Group of METTLER TOLEDO
hosted a Grand Opening event July 12-13 to unveil its new
265,000-sq.ft. facility in Lutz, Florida. The state-of-the-art
facility houses three business units - Safeline metal detection
and X-ray inspection, Hi-Speed checkweighing and CI-Vision
machine vision and PCE Track&Trace/Serialization units.
