Slicing system
The new Weber 604 Slicing System can increase presentation flexibility, throughput and hygienic operation for
mid-volume processors. The system is automatic and center loading. Touch-screen controls provide rapid and convenient changeovers between nine standard presentations,
including: straight or interleaved stacks; shingles; pieces;
shaved; folded; overlapped; and party tray ovals or rounds.
An optional Portion Designer creates limitless opportunity

for presentations. To maximize throughput, multiple products up to 60 inches in length may be loaded through a 14inch wide throat that can be adjusted from 4.9 inches to 6.5
inches tall. Geometrically optimized circular blades slice at
speeds up to 600 RPM. Slice thickness is electronically adjustable from 0.5 millimeters to 50 millimeters. The Model
604 can improve processor yields by combining the advantages of gripper feed control with the productivity of a continuous feed system. According to the company, extensive
in-plant tests illustrate product give-aways can be reduced
to near zero. A variety of options is available to customize
the system to fit specific applications. A fully automatic infeeder, accurate checkweigher and an efficient interleaver
(capable of two-lane stacked and shingled presentations)
are among the options intended to help processors improve

Meat grinder
Koch Equipment LLC's new MADO frozen meat grinder is
designed to grind fresh and frozen products at high levels
of efficiency with minimal temperature rise, thereby reducing bacteria and contaminants. The system offers production
capacities up to 10,000 kilograms per hour for frozen product (based on a 6-millimeter plate) and 36,000 kilograms
per hour (based on a 13-millimeter plate) for fresh product.
The grinder was designed for heavy-duty production. In addition to handling large production volumes, frozen blocks
can be processed at temperatures as low as -13°F (-25°C).
