Paul Kean has accepted the newly created position of vice
president of sales for
RISCO USA, which
supplies processing
equipment to the meat,
Kean
poultry and baking
industries. Kean joined RISCO USA
in 1997, when the Italian-based company opened offices in Massachusetts,
serving in several key management
capacities. Most recently he served as
vice president of customer service for
the company. Prior to joining RISCO
USA, he worked with several large, international companies in the food processing equipment business.
Solutions BioSciences, Inc., Chatham, N.J., has reached an agreement
with Imperium Partners Group, LLC,
a New York-based asset management
firm, regarding a major funding package consisting of up to $420 million line
of credit to help grow Solution BioSciences' business and meet increased demand for its products. Proceeds of the
transaction will finance the equipment
and installation of its Bromitize Antimicrobial System for poultry processing applications. The company recently
announced formal commercialization
of Bromitize following more than five
years of laboratory, clinical and commercial testing.

AgION Technologies, Inc., Wakefield, Mass., was recognized as one of
the 36 Technology Pioneers for 2006
at the World Economic Forum. The
company
develops
and markets silverbased AgION antimicrobial technologies
that provide protecTrogolo
tion against microbes.
AgION's chief technology officer, Dr.
Jeff Trogolo, accepted the award during the organization's annual meeting
in Geneva, Switzerland.

Gainco, Inc., Gainsville, Ga., has appointed Don Esch as
company president.
Esch replaces Larry
Bettcher, who will
continue to serve as

chairman for Gainco,
while Gene Parets will continue as executive vice president and C.O.O. of
the company, now reporting to Esch.
Esch will continue serving as vice
president of sales and marketing for
Bettcher Industries, Inc. Prior to joining Bettcher Industries in 2001, Esch
held executive-level positions with
APV Baker, Plasti-Line and Leggett
& Platt, and management positions at
Hoover Universal.

Kobi Levy has been appointed executive vice president and manager
of the Global Flavors Division of
Frutarom Ltd., North Bergen, N.J.
Previously, he was general manager
of the Strauss Group, a producer of
dairy products and part of the worldwide Danone Group.

Kemin Industries, Inc., Des Moines,
Iowa, announced the formation of its
newest company, Kemin Food Ingredients, Inc., a global company providing shelf life solutions to preserve the
freshness and enhance the quality of
food. Historically, the food ingredients' divisions were part of the Kemin

West Conshohocken, Pa.-based Keystone Foods recently signed an agreement with 3C Software, Atlanta, to
implement the Impact:ECS Costing
System. The system will provide
Keystone's accounting, finance and
business leaders immediate access
to detailed and customized costing
data. The agreement covers the poultry further-processing division. The
software is designed to provide the
tools and expertise for Keystone to
develop a fully integrated platform
to manage, calculate and analyze vital cost data. The 3C Software Professional Services team will work
directly with Keystone's accounting
staff in developing models to compute standard and actual costs, value
and track inventory, forecast yields
and variances, and deliver customized reports.
Meyn Holding B.V., Oostzaan, The
Netherlands, has come to an agreement with Systemate Holding B.V.,
also based in The Netherlands, to acquire all the activities of Systemate
Group B.V. The transaction is subject
to regulatory approval. Meyn offers
its customers poultry processing solutions throughout the entire process,
while Systemate focuses on a number
of markets and specific processing areas. Systemate's subsidiary, Dapac, is
recognized for its cut-up lines and associated systems. Officials say combining the two companies will provide
customers with a competitive and complete product portfolio supported by a
local presence.
The Ampac Flexibles, a division of
Ampac Packaging LLC, Cincinnati,
has announced two new key director
positions. Dave Bartish has joined
the company's Performance Films
group as the director of sales, and
Tricia Reighard is the new director of
technical marketing for its Converted
Products group.
