Steve Venenga, a group product manager for Jennie-O Turkey Store, Willmar, Minn., will join the meat products
marketing group for the dinner group
at Hormel Foods, Austin, Minn.
Andrew Malcom, who founded and
operated Malcom Meats of Chicago
before selling it to Sysco Corp., Houston, in 1999, was named chairman of
Sysco's specialty meat companies and
a vice-president of the corporation.
Jerry Pasquale, who was senior vice
president of the Malcom Meats operation, was promoted to general manger
of the subsidiary, responsible for Malcom Meats operations in Chicago and
Toledo, Ohio.
Maria Paredes is the new president
of Nebraska Meat Corp., Newark,
N.J. Jerry Romanoff, the former presi-
dent, will remain with the company as
C.E.O. Paredes has worked at Nebraska Meat for 18 years, most recently as
its executive vice president.
Ann Rasor, director of scientific and
regulatory affairs at the North American Meat Processors Association,
Reston, Va., has been elected to a twoyear term on the International HACCP
Alliance's board of directors.
Arie Nuys, president of Delft Blue
Veal, Inc., Cambridge, Ont., was elected president of the Ottawa, Ont.-based
Canadian Meat Council for 2005. He
has served on the C.M.C. board of directors for 15 years.
Harleysville, Pa.-based Marcho
Farms, makers of Premium Dutch
County Veal, and Sysco Corp., Houston, has announced plans for a process-verified veal program that will
be sold by Sysco under the Butcher
Block Reserve Veal brand.
