It's hard to talk about modern manufacturing these days without uttering the words
"waste reduction" or "cost elimination." In fact, if an initiative does not achieve these
goals, it simply won't happen. This is especially true of new equipment purchases.
We all know that company decision makers are not easily persuaded to buy a new
machine just to upgrade old and inefficient machinery. It needs to be leaner, meaner
and provide quick payback.

One area of manufacturing that desperately needs these lean manufacturing
principles applied is food processing and packaging with netting. Facilities that
process items with precut pieces of netting know all too well the enormous amount
of waste that is created with excess netting tails. Dollars are just thrown away
unnecessarily with each netted package. Well, apparently the people at Tipper Tie
have been at the drawing board designing a machine that will remedy this very
situation and cut out netting waste completely.

The engineers at Tipper Tie just released a revolutionary machine, the TN®-2001,
that is specifically designed to reduce labor, produce a tight package, and only use
the specific amount of netting necessary for each product. By automating the entire
netting and clipping cycle, this double clipper eliminates netting waste altogether
and reduces labor by up to three workers (depending on your operation). So, netting
waste associated with excess product tails from "one size fits all" precut and clipped
netting pieces are no longer an issue. Dennis May of new product development at

The Tipper Netter® TN®-2001 can net
and clip most products such as large
bone-in hams, small briskets, and
molded items. And, it accepts all
types of rucked netting including
cotton, elastic, plastic and poly.
The design and operation are also
